Smokey Chipotle Marinade

Updated: Aug 12, 2020

HOTTT in the best way

This makes enough for two large chicken breasts, a ton of shrimp, a good sized flank steak.

You could throw a couple of tablespoons into a soup to add a bunch of flavor as well as some spice! You could even toss it with some noodles for a spicy pasta + top with shrimp!

You'll need

  • 1 cup cilantro (loosely packed)

  • 1 lime (juice)

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1 shallot

  • 2 tablespoons chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (sauce + pepper)

  • 1 tablespoon avocado / olive oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • salt + pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine everything in a food processor and process for about a minute, stirring a couple times, until mostly smooth! Doesn't need to be homogenous just no big chunks.

  2. Use as a marinade for chicken, shrimp, fajita steak, mushrooms, salmon.. whatever your heart desires!
